Allergies are the negative response of the body to a stimulus.
Allergies can manifest as runny eyes, drippy nose, sneezing, itching, rashes or general malaise. Allergies can be inherited or develop over time due to over exposure to a substance — sometimes when the body is in an otherwise compromised condition (either physically ill or emotionally upset).
There is frequently a threshold below which the body does not react — but once the threshold is reached, there is a hyper sensitivity to stimuli that might otherwise not be noticed.
Oriental Medicine can help your body build a new response to the negative stimuli by strengthening the organ system which is manifesting the allergic response.
During the “season,” treatment often addresses the symptom — but out of season, treatment works on creating a new response to the stimuli.
